All our cars are fitted with Auriga\'s CT4000 datahead unit and radio. The CT4000 is essentially a mobile computer that updates it\'s own position using GPS and communicates this with Evocab in the main control room via PMR, providing an accurate and reliable data and voice service.

The CT4000 receives jobs from the intelligent Evocab system via radio data link. Jobs are dispatched to the CT4000 by the Evocab system based on many factors. These include, distance from the pick-up, type of vehicle required, and vehicle time on rank. This provides the drivers with a fair allocation of jobs and provides the customer with a lightning fast service. ' + '

Become a Driver

The first step in becoming a Private Hire Taxi Driver for Renfrewshire Cab Company is to acquire your Private Hire Driver\'s Licence (Badge).

You must apply for this through Renfrewshire Council. To use your own car as a Private Hire Taxi, you must also apply for a Private Hire Vehicle Licence (Plate) Note: We have many options for rental of plated cars.

*You will receive a fully itemised monthly invoice detailing:

a) The time & date of the Journey
b) The name of the person travelling

d) The charge incurred

No longer will you require to be concerned with petty cash vouchers and unreadable, torn, dirty receipts for taxi journeys.

*Please note that we can adjust your invoice to suit your needs. Just ask.

Security: After an account is opened, customers are provided with an account reference and can choose a password. You can also set up individual codes which allow individual departments to have their own unique number. This allows your company accountant to easily check each department\'s spend on taxis.

Your account cannot be used unless your account number, password and unique code are quoted at the time of ordering the taxi.

New Fares

We would like to alert you, our valued customer, to our recently implemented fare increase, which will come into effect at 4am on 31st Oct.

Although buses, trains, and all different sectors of the transportation industry have increased their prices over the years, Renfrewshire Cab Company’s prices have been frozen for the past three years.

Throughout this time your drivers have had to contend with massive fuel increases as well as other general inflationary increases affecting the trade and so we hope you understand we could not defer a review for any longer.

On this occasion our increase has been based on numerous factors as we are mindful of the recession. The changes also take account of higher demand at weekends, where we hope to improve our service further by continuing to give great value compared to other public transport options.
Standard fare will increase by 30p only for the first mile - 10p per mile thereafter
Friday & Saturday 7pm – Midnight will carry a weekend supplement of 40p on all fares.
Over Friday & Saturday, the 40p supplement should encourage more drivers to operate and we hope this will result in an improved level of service to the customer. Your drivers also stand to benefit from working these unsocial hours.

Similarly, by loading the primary increase to weekends we can contain our midweek rate to a very modest increase on all fares, when our customers are predominately single passenger users.

Our objective is to provide a quality service that represents good value to our customers, whilst ensuring our drivers can maintain a reasonable standard of living and vehicle standard that complies with the regulations and conditions as set out by Renfrewshire council licensing department.
